Café Lumière
The History of Café Lumière
Café Lumière is a project birthed out of The International Christian Community of Provence (ICCP). A restaurant previously serving North African meals was purchased in 2019 and converted into a coffee shop in 2020. We are a non-profit association, with the goal of serving specialty coffee and great pasties to support those in need. Our proceeds support various charities including projects locally and internationally.
Café Lumière is located in downtown Aix en Provence and across from the Annex of the Granet Museum – 31 rue Maréchal Joffre, Aix en Provence.
Restaurant Hours

Background
France has a history which has appeared to create a barrier between those inside and those outside the church. There is a resistance to church attendance. This is where Café Lumière plays a vital role in evangelizing a country that previously was predominantly Christian, but today is very secular. At Café Lumière we have created a space that is open to all, regardless of background or belief. In this space people can enter into a spiritual conversation, ask questions about life’s tough issues or even be involved in a Bible study.
We are a team of volunteers, who love God and want to spread the good news of Jesus to those who live in or around Aix-en-Provence or those who are simply passing through. In the midst of all of this we serve great coffee, other drinks and affordable meals.
