Café Lumière
The History of Café Lumière
Café Lumière is a project birthed out of The International Christian Community of Provence (ICCP), the cultural arm of Aix International Church. We purchased a small restaurant and converted it into a coffee shop in 2020. We are a non-profit association, with the goal of serving specialty coffee and great pastries, to support both our faith community and those in need.
Café Lumière is located in downtown Aix en Provence and across from the Annex of the Granet Museum – 31 rue Maréchal Joffre, Aix en Provence.
Restaurant Hours
| Sunday and Monday | CLOSED |
| Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday | 10:00 – 16.00 |
Background
We want to break the unseen barriers between those inside and outside of the church. This is where Café Lumière plays a vital role in a country that previously was predominantly Christian, but today is very secular. At Café Lumière we have created a space that is open to all, regardless of background or belief, but based on Christian principles. In this space people can enter into a spiritual conversation, ask questions about life’s tough issues or even be involved in a Bible study.
Our team of volunteers, want to spread the good news of Jesus to those who live in or around Aix-en-Provence or those who are simply passing through. In the midst of all of this we serve great coffee, other drinks and affordable meals.
